After 35 years of practicing at Bloor West Optometry, I have decided to retire in June 2026. This was not an easy decision, as I truly love this profession and have greatly valued the diverse and wonderful people I’ve had the privilege of providing comprehensive eye care for.
I regret that I haven’t been able to share this news with all of you in person, as the decision was made only recently.
It has been incredibly meaningful to watch children grow, to become parents themselves and to be entrusted with the care of multiple generations of families. I am deeply grateful for the confidence you have shown in me through your referrals of family members, friends, and colleagues.
My decision to retire reflects other goals I wish to pursue outside of optometry.
For the past seven years, I have had the pleasure of working alongside Dr. Lauren Horochowskyj. I am confident that she shares the same philosophy of care: providing the highest standard of service, treating patients as we would wish to be treated ourselves, and clearly explaining findings and treatment options to ensure the best possible outcomes.
In recent years, I have reduced my hours, and many of you have already seen Dr. Horochowskyj for routine and emergency care. She continues to welcome new patients and has been able to accommodate my practice as it transitions. I feel very fortunate knowing you can continue your eye care with her.
I will dearly miss my patients, colleagues, and the team at Bloor West Optometry.
