"Why do I need a full exam? I only
came in for a pair of glasses."
Just because
you can see well doesn't mean you have good eye
health. A recent study presented at the American Academy
of Optometry involving 133 optometrists across Canada and
24,570 patients revealed that 20% of patients who presented
for a routine eye exam were found to have eye disease and 58%
were unaware of the disease. That means that as many as
one in six patients who present for a routine eye exam have no
symptoms of disease. This study supports the importance
of a full ocular health assessment with each eye examination.
